The Fish of Maui

We retold the story of "The Fish of Maui".  Here are some of our wonderful stories.

Maui fished up Te Ika a Maui.  The hook ws made out of a jaw bone.  Maui punched his nose and he put blood on the hook.  The brothers chopped up the fish.

Maui hid in the boat.   It was wake up time.  His brothers woke up to.  They went in the boat…but then “I here” said Maui.  “It doesn’t matter I can do this” said Maui.

He got his hook out.  He put blood on the hook.  Then he pulled up the North Island.  Then they chopped the fish.

Maui went into the waka at night.

He jumped out and surprised them and caught the North Island.  The hook is made from a jaw bone. He punched his nose and put the blood on the hook.

Maui got into the waka at night.  His brothers went fishing in the morning.  Maui hid in the waka because he was too young.  When it was deep Maui came out from hiding.  He said to his brothers “I can catch fish”.  He fished up the North Island.  He put blood on the hook for bait.  He made the hook out of his grandmothers jaw bone!
